The Two Sister Study Completes Enrollment!

We are grateful to the sisters who have joined the Two Sister Study! After dealing with a breast cancer diagnosis, more than 1600 remarkable women have volunteered to help us get some answers.  We will learn a great deal about factors that contribute to susceptibility by comparing the sister with breast cancer and the sister without.

Parents are providing another critical piece of the puzzle. We appreciate the more than 1,400 parents who signed up for the study. The saliva we get from one or both parents will be used to extract DNA, which will allow us to learn about genetic factors in families that combine with environmental factors to cause breast cancer.

The analysis of these important data has begun, and our first paper is now in press.  Stay tuned!
