Frequently Asked Questions

TELL ME MORE ABOUT THE INITIAL TWO-HOUR INTERVIEW.

GO BACK TO MAIN QUESTIONS

Do I complete my initial telephone interview before or after the EMSI visit?

You may complete your telephone interview and home visit in any order although in most cases the interview will happen first.  It is important that your interview and blood draw are completed close to the same time, within a few weeks, if possible.   When you enroll in the study, our staff will work with you to find a schedule that works best for you.

Can I complete the interview all at once instead of splitting it up?

No.  We know you may want to "get it over with."  However, two hours is a long time, and we have learned that it is hard for women to answer all of our questions after an hour or so on the phone.  For this reason, we would like you to take at least a 15-minute break between Part 1 and Part 2 of the interview.    We can call you back at an agreed-upon time, or you can make another appointment to complete the interview within two weeks.

Can I take a couple of weeks or more between Part 1 and Part 2 of the interview?

Preferably not.  Part 1 and Part 2 of the telephone interview should be completed within a two-week period, if at all possible.   If this is not possible, we will work with you to schedule the interviews as close together as possible.
